review: A good experience at Buccleuch Arms! The family atmosphere really made us feel at home, and the attention to detail was excellent. Breakfast was hearty, featuring fresh local ingredients, and the engaging decor highlighted the town's history. Great for those traveling with bikes, too, with secure parking available. , rating: 8, date of stay: 2024-07-15}

Beautifully maintained and cosy rooms, I had relaxing experience.
It was a special hotel, I will be back. The restaurant was pleasant with a varied menu here, I had excellent dishes. The staff were knowledgeable and efficient, nothing too much trouble. Central location was a plus. I was surprised at nearby Cafe Ariete, they had some goodies, drinks.

Good Visit to Lothlorien Antiques
Choosing the Buccleuch Arms for its proximity to this charming emporium was a no-brainer. I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive selection of handmade chocolates and old-fashioned sweets available at the shop. The Buccleuch Arms itself, with its rich history as an 18th-century coaching inn, provided a wonderful atmosphere, complemented by excellent locally sourced food in their restaurant.
Only a minor hiccup in service.

Family vibe and fab food!
We had such a warm welcome from the owner, Dave, as soon as we arrived. His wife, Yvonne, was super helpful with our bookings, and Clint made sure we felt right at home! The food was to die for, especially the Bobotie, yum! The only thing was, the bar could get a bit busy during the evenings.
